Depend filters as Select field

Hi,
We are developing a new website using this tool, and we need to use Depend filters, we have configured everything and it is working fine, but we find a problem.

in order to make the extra field depend, you need to create the field as text field, but that is a problem when you are filling the k2 item, as yo need to write the content exactly the same as is written in the depend filter. If you have easy content it's not a problem, but when you have long description you can make mistakes easily, so it would be better to be able to use select fields for that.

Hi again,

We are working on it, but we don't understand how to do it ...

We have discovered that in order the filter works, you should fill the extra field with the id of the category in the depend filter... that has no sense but it's the only way we get the item filtered by the first extra field.
We have tried to filter through the second one, we filled the extra field with the id of the child category, but nothing it's filtered... I have checked the url that it is created and found that the second extra field is not apllied on it:

the second field id is 32 but doesn't appear.

Can you help me to configure it?

Hi Alberto,

You're in the right direction but you missed to enable the 'K2 - JA K2 Filter' plugin. When this plugin is enabled, in K2 item settings > Extra Fields tag > there will be list of categories where you can choose one. I just did a sample test for this item: http://prntscr.com/jaawxu

One more question, how we connect the following fields??? We have the same alias but in the item edition doesn't show the select box.

also in the result appears the id instead of the value, it's needed any change in the template?

Sorry for the delay answering you, I was busy in other urgent projects....

I have discovered today that the "sector" select list, contains all the levels of the category... I thought that every sublevel should have an extra field linked. So the first part of my question it is clear.

Now the problem is the way that those extra fields are shown in the item, I have the item "pushback" (Id 119), with this depend extra field (http://prntscr.com/jd8h82)

But when you filter it at http://airrail.ibiscomputer.support/servicios/alquiler, the extra fields appear like this http://prntscr.com/jd6d26, where you can see that the extra field "sector" value is "66" that is the id of the depend value (http://prntscr.com/jd6568).

Should I change the template to be able to show this?
Sector: "Maquinaria Logística" (Depend filter level 1)
Tipo: "Tractor Roro" (Depend filter level 2)
Other non depend extra fields

Hi,

When you filter the Sector: "Maquinaria Logística", the Tipo field will list its own categories to filter. I'm still not sure how you want to achieve here.

The filters are ok, my problems is how to show them in the results.

In this search http://airrail.ibiscomputer.support/servicios/alquiler?issearch=1&theme=project&category_id=68&xf_31_array=56,&xf_31_txt=56

you only get one result (it's ok), but if you check the extra fields below the image, the sector extra field appears as 66 (image pushback_1). We want to show here the sector as one field and the Tipo as another (image pushback_2).

also we will have a couple of sublevels that we want to show as independent extra fields.

So you want to show name the category like

Section: Maquinaria Logistica

Tipo: Tractor Roro

Instead of ID like it's now, right?

saguaros Yes!!!! But in the future there will be more levels of depend fields, so the solution should cover it.
