When you search the site you get automatically the advanced search option page instead of a page with search results? Are there some settings for this? or how do I change this? Thanks

You are not using Joomla search default but a 3rd part extension , please ask to the extension developer how to set their module , also search is a pretty joomla core feature and has nothing to do with template you installed.
