You can add this to custom.css file and adjust height value accordingly :
.t3-masthead .ja-masthead{height: 720px;}
Kindly ensure to clear your browser cache if changes dont reflect
or add in background images of approx. dimensions (1600 by 400px) which would fit in proportionaly as also seen on demo site in inner pages
