Hello,
I would be grateful if someone could give me an opinion about this problem.
I encounter an issue with URL rewriting when article options are set to “Modern”, URLs are not rewritten in SEF mode. This is valid only for featured articles.

However:
- It's a new Joomla installation.
- htaccess file is the original one and has never been modified.
- SEO options in Joomla global configuration are enabled correctly.

Is anyone among you have already encountered this problem?

Thank you

Lorenzo

iorbita Can you provide direct site link so as to take closer look along with adding admin details in edit fields
For reference, You can follow thread post (5 point) procedure.

Hello Aman and thank you for your reply.
    Data access sent 😉

You can try articles in "Forum" menu item, these are featured articles. You can make any changes you want, it's a test site.

Thank you again for the interest in my issue.

    Hello again,
I found the solution on Joomla.fr forums.
Featured articles don’t have URLs rewritten correctly because it is necessary that at least one other article need to be linked by another menu item type of this same category.
I don’t know if I'm clear enough… an explanation is given in this discussion

    Thank you,

    Lorenzo

      Hi Lorenzo,

You can try the same suggestion by creating a new menu item which you can hide from showing in the frontend

Then assign featured articles (or category these featured articles belong to) to this new menu item, it then will show under that menu item URL.

For example, in the current 'Forum' page, it shows various featured articles, the article 'Article test 5' is assigned to 'association-1' menu item and its URL looks nice.

      Hello Saguaros,

...indeed it works too, but in this case the article is no longer related to "Forum" menu...

It remains a fact, a "featured articles" menu type can not be used alone if you want a SEF rewriting of URLs, it is necessary that the articles of the category are also attached to another type of menu.
For me this is a lack in Joomla.

      Thank you,

      Lorenzo

iorbita Hi. Indeed it's not a perfect solution, but it has its roots in historical issue. This is how joomla been working since version 1. Each article/item/product/event needs a landing page (category type page in a menu, doesn't have to be a menu shown on site). Having such landing pages defined will give You a control over where article/item/product/event is being opened. In early versions lack of landing pages meant that item will open where it was clicked causing problems with duplicated content if for example the link was present in a module, so now, of course it needs some work, but it's really helpful.

... thank you for this clarification 😉
