Reordering menu on footer-1

Is there a way to restructure the menu order on footer-1? For some some unreasonable and unpractical reason, the default ordering is horizontal (?!?), instead of vertical like almost every other sensible menu/footer-menu . Consequently, it's a big hassle to order the menu-items in such a way to make the footer look like vertical menus (menu columns that are related in one way or another).

If that's not a problem enough, when the template is responsive to different screen sizes and devices, the menus become even more scrambled. 🙁

We're still in early development and the website is not yet available to share. Even so, before we begin customizing a template with custom code, content, images and modules, we often explore a template thoroughly before adopting it. It was during this process that we recognized the JA-Hotel-template's odd footer-menu structure (which is horizontal, instead of the more typical and rational vertical/column based). If possible, please check out the demo or another installation simply to recognize that this is factual. You may have a solution to this while doing so; otherwise, we'll soon post our credentials, but honestly, it will mostly be a recently installed JA-Hotel quick-template.

I hope this will ultimately help others who want to use JA-Hotel, but eventually discover the odd footer-menu ordering. Why did Joomlart chose this horizontal listing approach?! We're so confused by this decision, as we've never seen a footer menu ordered horizontally in any website, particularly when the design still makes it look like they're related columns 🙁

Thanks for helping out. I've just shared my credentials.

As you'll see, I've setup the "Links" section of the footer in the more conventional approach (4 vertical columns of related menu items), instead of the template's default horizontal menu approach. This was done simply by ordering the menu items in a certain way, which was bothersome enough.

The problems really show up, however, when looking at the template through different devices, then the footer-menu items (following the template's default horizontal setup) totally scrambles any vertical association.

Ideally, related menu-items would show up together in groups of 4, vertically one below the other, until the next 4 related menu items.

How do I restructure the way the footer menu is setup, abandoning its horizontal nature and adopting a vertical approach?

Could you share screenshot of how you want it should be here? At this moment, I see that the menu module in 'footer-1' position is showing links correctly as you set in Layout settings:

The problems appears when using devices or by toggling the device toolbar at a browser's DevTools. As an example, if one uses the Galaxy S5 or iPad (portrait) dimensions, you'll notice that because there's no longer 4 columns next to each other (there are only two columns), all the link ordering gets scrambled.

Ideally, even when only two columns are next to each other their related links should be on top/below of each other. As in (or similar):
AAAA BBBB
AAAA BBBB
AAAA BBBB
AAAA BBBB
CCCC DDDD
CCCC DDDD
CCCC DDDD
CCCC DDDD

Unfortunately, the way this module is currently setup with this template (horizontal menu ordering), the results is quite chaotic:

AAAA BBBB
CCCC DDDD
AAAA BBBB
CCCC DDDD
AAAA BBBB
CCCC DDDD
AAAA BBBB
CCCC DDDD

Hi,

I checked your site and saw that you put all links in a menu and use a menu module to load all of them.

To have the layout like above, I suggest you to create some menus with which each menu will contain only some links that you want to display in 1 column, for example, you create a menu call A links, then put all AAA items to that menu.

Next, you create menu module > load that A links menu and put in footer-1, footer-2... or any position you use in that spotlight block.

It will be easier to setup in Layout settings as screenshot I sent above.
