Unable to create menulist without dropdown

Hi,

I seems there is a bug in the T3 Framework, when using the core joomla menu module.

I want to create a menu in the sidebar, and do not want to have dropdowns with submenu items, but just have a menulist with submenu-items shown indented below the parent item.

But nomatter what settings you configure the menu module with, you end up with all submenu-items as drop down menus 🙁

I've been trying with both separate menus or with showing specific menuitems set as base, from mainmenu. Makes no difference. Only thing helping, is to change to non-T3 template framework.

My mainmenu is show in the top of the site, using megamenu - but even configuring the template style to not use megamenu, makes no difference...

I've attached screenshots showing what I want (no dropdown) and what I get (dropdown).

Using the following versions:
J3.9 as well as J3.8.13
T3 2.7.2 plugin
T3 BS3 Blank 2.3
PHP 7.1.23

Is anybody else able to reproduce/confirm this? I've had a collegue in another firm creating his own test, which showed the same problem.

Hope there is somebody who can help fixing this.

Hi,

I created a new layout for menu module so that you can show all sub-menu items. You can try this way:
1- Download & unzip attached file, copy to this directory: root/templates/t3_your_default_template/html/mod_menu/ (Create this folder if it doesn’t exist)
2- Add this custom CSS code into the file: root/templates/t3_your_default_template/css/custom.css (Create this file if it doesn’t exist)

ul.show-all ul {
  list-style: none;
  margin: 0 0 0 20px;
  padding: 0;
}
 
ul.show-all ul li {
  padding: 5px 0;
}
 
ul.show-all li.parent > a {
  font-weight: 600;
}

3- Go to admin panel > Extensions > Modules > open the Menu module of your site > Advanced tab > select the new layout show-all http://prntscr.com/inwitg

It will show all sub-menu items then.

Am I mistaken, or was this previously working without a new module layout in T3?

Hi,

No, you're not mistaken. The thing here is that templates built with T3 framework often override style for menu module themselves, but T3 Blank or Purity III templates inherit default style of T3 framwork so it has style like that.

I can provide you style for the default layout but with a new layout like above, it will not be affected when you update new version of template.
