Hello,
I'm encounter problems with the modal popup window in RSBlog and RSComments (look at the short gif animated annexed), the popup is inaccessible, is positioned behind the background overlay instead of being in front.
I spent a lot of time to try to fix this but for me it's just impossible...
I contacted RSJoomla support who told me that the problem comes from the framework (Zen Grid Framework) and not from their component.

Please could you just take a look and tell me how to fix this?

Thank you for your support,

Lorenzo

PS For FTP access, eXtplorer component is also installed.

Hi Lorenzo,

It seems that RS extension uses old bootstrap version 2, while template uses bootstrap 3 and it causes the conflict. Not sure if their extensions supports bootstrap 3 or not.

Joomla 4 is coming soon with Bootstrap 4, bootstrap 2 is too old now.

Hello Saguaros,

please look carefully at my template configuration for the blog section (there is a style dedicated for this section), I disabled any call to Bootstrap, in other words RSBlog load Bootstrap directly from Joomla.
The problem is situated in Zengrid framework, indeed if you disable Buildr template and you use a default Joomla template (try with Protostar), the problem disappears .

So I will ask my question differently: how and where disable the call to the modal window in Zengrid framework in order to avoid the conflict with Joomla Bootstrap.

Thank you,

Lorenzo

Hi,
... any chance to have an answer to my question?

Thank you,

Lorenzo

iorbita Hi. Can You please tell me where this popup should be triggered? In short, where to click to see it?

    Hello,
in my first message there is a link (dropbox link) that explain where to click (is in blog section).

    Thank you,

    Lorenzo

iorbita Try add this to custom.css file :

      .modal-backdrop{z-index: -1 !important;}
      div.modal.fade.in{top:30% !important;}

Kindly ensure to clear your browser cache if changes dont reflect

Also, You may check the admin panel link as the same is redirecting to homepage henceforth not accessible

        Hello,
I also had this solution but it doesn’t seem to be the good one because .modal-backdrop element gets under my other elements (text, pictures, …), it’s the modal popup that must pass above.

As you can see on Protostar template the problem is not present.

I think it's Zengrid framework that conflicts with Joomla Bootstrap, the only solution I've found for now is to get .modal-backdrop element in postion: initial, but that's not the best solution.

So my question is also always the same: how and where disable the call to the modal window in Zengrid framework in order to avoid the conflict with Joomla Bootstrap.

Access to the administration should work now, thank you.

        Lorenzo

However, The solution as suggested above or now in changing CSS declaration or value, provided by you works fine in rendering the modal popup window

You can always make use of page class suffix also in order to ensure the specific CSS is appended for specific menu item layout solely

thank you, but that's not the answer to my question!

iorbita Hi. I cannot access this dropbox link (guessing I'm being blocked by firewall). Can You please provide here what is in it? When I knew where this popup is and see it I may be able to help.

              Hello,
popup modal can be triggered in the first blog page

or in article detail of the blog page (at the bottom where it’s possible to leave a comment)

              Thank you again,

              Lorenzo

              ... in a week I haven't received the answer I expected, quite disappointed ...

                Hi,

Could you check the admin account again? so I can investigate further on this issue. The provided account seems not to work now.

                Hello Saguaros,
I spent hours and hours (and a lot of css rules) trying to display correctly modal window and honestly I'm not completely satisfied with the final result ( https://www.murrophotography.com/blog ), especially for the display on smartphones and small screens.
Try on a iPhone 5SE: for the modal window comments there is no more fluidity, also sometimes the modal window goes below the elements of the page, and more, sometimes fonts are no longer loaded correctly and again it’s very difficult to position elements inside the modal window, in other words it's a real pain! …and this because Zen Grid framework conflicts with Bootstrap modal window, yet my question was specific:
how and where disable the call to the modal window in Zengrid framework in order to avoid the conflict with Joomla Bootstrap.
I reinstalled an old backup in a subdomain (see details fields), if you could give me an answer to my question I would be grateful.

                Thank you again,

                Lorenzo

                13 days later

ok no answer after two weeks, I deleted website in subdomain. Quite disappointed...
