All item links going to subscribe form

New problem after joomla update. All K2 item links do not show and the page displays the acymailing subsription form as a default. I have searched and can't find where the error is although I am sure its something simple. Tried disabling the form and still shows.

I am not able to login on your site with given admin login details.
Kindly submit a working super user login. Also check you are using latest version of Template and K2.

I got site login from another thread opened by you.
On your site there is custom override for K2 in folder /html/com_k2/item/" in template "ja_directory".

Kindly replace the /html/com_k2/ folder with fresh package of template /k2 folder.
The custom override is creating this issue.

Do you mean the entire k2 folder under template or just the k2/item folder. I am concerned about losing some of the changes made to the k2 settings prior to the update. The mods were made from previous support recommendations to solve a problem

This is not override by template. Kindly remove this folder or rename it to any other name.
Template has only this structure in /html/com_k2 folder

I suggested to replace whole com K2 folder as its not clear you have custom work in other files as well or not.

OK I replaced all the K2 files under html/com/k2
No visible change.
Renamed the ja_directory/local folder to remove overides and it now shows the items as intended.

So I am clear do overides go in ja_directory/local or should the local folder be at the same level as ja_directory.
I assume I uploaded some files to a misplaced directory.

Local folder is used to make override of template files, as you have this override, you need to make changes in local folder as well to fix the code.
When the override is in local folder, all files are run from local.

I am asking for the correct location of the local directory folder. I have it in the ja_directory folder. Is this correct and do overides of the k2 customizations work here. ie /templates/ja_directory/local/

Since this site is live I may need to revert to the backup. Maybe Joomla 3.9 is causing this issue.

JA Directory working fine with Joomla 3.9
On your site have customization in K2 files that may created problem.
If you want to create own override for K2.

You need to apply it in /templates/ja_directory/html/ folder.

/templates/ja_directory/local/ is used to override html, css. tpls folder of the template.
You can say its 2nd override for template, This is useful when u have custom work for template.
