teitbite ok no problem. seems to be working when you try the 2 search engines from any pages.
but If you try the 2 search engines from home page, I get nothing. is it normal?

I'm talking about both search engines (see below)
If you try both of them from home page, the page, results are not displayed.
If you try both of them from another page (examle here : http://xmauzac.toonetcreation.com/notre-village/la-mairie/le-mot-du-maire.html), results are correctly displayed.

You need to test the module on default Joomla template, the result will be same.

Yes, what Pankaj said is true, with button enabled You will be able to use enter, but as You've mentioned it was also working without the button but with my script added, so the only question is why isn't it working on homepage. In cases like that it's most likely because of some conflict, so can You pleas disable this button so I will be able to check the homepage.

toonetcreation Hi, yes I think it may be because You have a content blocked on homepage. This is a common practice when You fill homepage with modules and do not need component. You can unblock it in template's style settings or best would be to add a menu item of a type Search Results, so homepahe will not be used to show results, but user will be redirected to that page always.

Also, about content blocked on homepage I understand but on your demo quickstart, content is blocked on homepage + there is no item menu results link, and search works fine.

So I don't undestand why this is not working for me ?

toonetcreation Hi. To be honest I do not understand that either. I've just made the component on homepage visible for test and even than search is not coming through. It surely does not act like joomla use to. But it looks that this issue is coming from joomla itself since same thing is happening with Protostar template used. So I guess it will be fixed with new joomla update. Meanwhile add this script in the template custom script fields to fast fix it:

but does not explain with works fine with your joomla demo quickstart without your script :-(

toonetcreation Hi. I have no idea, but it does not work even with Protostar used, which means when our template and most of the modules are not used, so not affecting the functionality. Maybe it's caused by some 3rd party extension or due to some corrupted file in the installation. The case is that this is a first time I see a problem like that, so the script is best I can come up with.

BTW: Have You tried to replace this search with smart search module? Functionality will be same and this may actually not have this problem.

teitbite yes this is the same with smart search.
If I replace classic search module with smart search module, your 2 scripts provided before (for enter keyboard and results page) does not work...is it normal?

PS : see live site, I have replaced module.

toonetcreation Hi. Yes, my script is for regular search only, but it can be easily adjusted to work with Smart Search, so if You will wish to switch, just let me know. Will leave this thread open just in case You will have such a request.
