Not everyone on the site is a developer! Especially people new to joomla. When they logon to Joomlart they are looking at the overall cost, to get the look they see! And no matter what level they are at Joomlart should what to take the journey with them.
For some reason people forget the cost of building a website... And when you forget about the average joe that don't have $299 to spend on a Joomla Component or module they end up going somewhere else. Plus the template thats free may not be the one that leads a consumer into joining Joomlart. So balance must always be apart of the process when showcasing a product you want people to buy.
The Template is where you want the customer to start at but the secondary products is where you want a customer to end at.
Now when I gave a freind the joomlart website and told them take a look at their templates and joomla before downloading wordpress they did! But when I spoke with them a couple days later they told me they went with Wordpress because of the cost. Membership wasn't the issue. everything else was the reason... Secondary cost. $89 for membership then the components and modules. Now they didn't really understand that Joomlart templates do come with a lot of free stuff. But how many people do you think has done the same thing? So my post was based on a reason and letting people know that they can get the template and slowly get the secondary components and modules will lead to additional sales. Because in the long run people will see the value in adding the components and modules to the website.
Since I have been a member I have never seen anything that lets people know they can buy the template without the components and modules. And Sales is Power! You don't have any sales guess what you don't have a company... Its the little things why companies miss out on closing a sale!
