mod_zentools2 error message

A message is coming up on the home page "a non numeric value encountered in home/animist/public_html/modules/mod_zentools2/includes/joomla.php on line 283

What does this mean and how do we fix it? I haven't updated or modified the site in a while.

Hi,

It may due to the new PHP version on your site. I just tested with the latest version of this template 1.4.0 and it works fine with PHP 7.2. You can consider to update latest version for module and template first.

In case that you don't want to update, you can hide this warning by going to Backend > System > Configuration > Server tab and set Error Reporting to None.

Thanks. So I should install the latest version of Buildr? Can I be assured that the new version will maintain everything I built and customized?

Also, please remind me how to install the latest version? Do I upload it in the Extensions manager and let it unpack itself?

You may download and install the latest version i.e. 1.4.0 from here and module from here

Would suggest to also take backup of your site before performing aforesaid steps, in case rollback required whilst facing any issues e.t.c as the retention of customizations or changes will depend majorly upon certain factors if you have made changes in appropriate files e.t.c. which do not get overridden

You can install new version directly over the current version through extension manager . Uninstallation is not required.

If you have a custom.css file (who doesn't?) save this separately. I am finding that the updater packages for JB all now include a blank custom.css which will overwrite yours, erasing your customizations. You can then move your custom.css file back - or use the cut-and-paste method.
