Demo setup instruction discrepancy

I'm just starting out. I installed the JA Mono template and trying to recreate the demo using the instructions, STEP 2 image shows a template selection box but the selection box isn't present when I go and actually do the step. I'm using all up to date versions.

I just want to be sure I haven't missed a step. Thank you.

this is an issue in Joomla not template style, Joomla 3.9.2 has this issue.
You can assign the template from template style options > assignment tab.

To append to reply by Pankaj, You may kindly refer to this forum post from Joomla.org wherein similar bug had been reported along with viewing/trying the fix provided in issue tracker

Would suggest to also take backup of your site before performing aforesaid steps, in case rollback required whilst facing any issues e.t.c
