We had a user A complete the registration form and then when presented with the confirmation details it was of someone else User B
The registration of the User B was done we think at the same time and they didn't have any issues and completed the registration
The User that got the wrong details is Extremely concern with privacy and what we are doing about it.

System was running 3.3.2 and have just upgraded to 4.0.9
Has this issue been seen and fixed
Its difficult to replicate as I'm sure its a timing thing but how can the session of two users be shared.
Joomla is set to session saved in PHP no the database.
Running php 7.0

    Could you share admin login info of your site and tell me the records of User A & B so I can check?

      User A did NOT complete the registration as she wasn't confident that the system was safe after seeing someone else's confirmation details on the screen and just informed us what happened.
      The record of User B looks normal
      As I said we can't simulate it.
      User B is record Gabriel Stiassny confirmation number SC-38155

          We have had this occur again.
          We had a large volume of users register so it appear to be volume related.
          So the reported information is
          User A complete the registration form and then when was presented with the confirmation details it was of someone else User B
          User A did not complete the registration as the information was incorrect so no record was created for User A
          User B seems to have been recorded fine.

            Let me try in our local site if we can replicate this issue.
