Weather module not working anymore

Hello,

I have just updated (without making a backup unfortunately 😓) the GK4 weather module and it's not working anymore after the update to version 1.8.

I get this message in the front-end, instead of the weather display:
"Please provide full Credentials Infomation" (yes with the spelling mistake)

I can't see anywhere in the documentation where to add any kind of credentials info. The city information has not changed and there's nothing else to add. The documentation is dated and not all tabs are documented properly.

Also, by the way, in the About tab of the module, the link to Gavick Magazine goes to an Asian language website, unreadable and I guess not Gavick's property anymore.

fairyjo Hi. I'm afraid GK Weather is not valid anymore and it will be discontinued. Problem is that this module was based on Yahoo weather API which was canceled and Yahoo does not provide weather information now. You will have to replace this module with a different one I'm afraid.

Well before the update it was working just fine... Why was it updated then? The new version 1.8 is not even listed in the extension's change log.

OK, I will look for another one, do you have any to recommend?
Should I uninstall the GK weather extension then?

Maybe you should mention that this is discontinued on the website, that would help.

What about you update it with OpenWeather API like they did here : https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-extensions/sp-weather

I must admit, I'd like to stick with the JoomlArt world, I really appreciate everything here and support is fantastic.

fairyjo Hi. This was a very old gavick extension and it has not been updated for a while. Switching the source will require rewritting it. I'm not saying it will not be done, but with Joomla4 coming there is no time to do that now, so this is why I'm advicing to switch it.
