Less compiling doesn't work any more

Hi,
I tried to compile my custom.less but it didn't work any more. Error reporting see screenshot below. So I tried to solve the error in line 6 and exchanged the @tablet-max-width with the real value. After that next error was the next variable. I exchanges all with real values and after that compiling worked but now my site is broken. My custom css doesn't work any more either as I can guess because of the new style of my frontend.
I work with buildr template.
Can you please assist me?

Site is running and custom.css is loading again. I found out, that if I exchange variables with values and compile then the compiling process works but then the system overwrites the whole code of the custom.css with the code of the custom.less. Thats why I meant the custom.css doesn't load anymore.

Hi,

If you change in custom.less then when compiling, it will overwrite the custom.css file. If your site is in development stage and you're familiar with less, you can change in less file only.

Don't know if I understand you right but yes, I am in development stage and by buiding up the site I make changes in css style by using the custom.css. If I need changes in style when the site is in tablet or phone screen I make it in the custom.less. To display the new styles in frontend I need to compile the less file. In the past this worked fine each time but since yesterday the compiling doesn't work anymore as you can see in the screenshot. Can you give me a hint what worked wrong? Site is going online this week and I need a well working less.

The normal template configuration can not be changed anymore, too. See screenshot, the "Message:
Updating css for the onepage2 theme." stands still, nothing happens. Only way out is to relaod the site, then every change is gone, nothing saved.
Site is still on development, nothing changed in the settings on the server. Could it be a problemm with the rights in writing? Have no idea why this should have changed but could it be a possibility for this?

After cleaning all caches, restart system etc is the template setting working again so I can save changes in template configuration again. Still less compiling is not working. System gives the message that it is saved but the new styles were not applied.
Is there a possibility to write the styles directly in files without the compiling process?

Had tried accessing the admin panel to review as to why custom.css file isnt working as envisaged alongwith checking other parameters however the admin panel isnt accessible due to admin tools protection being enabled! Kindly check

If you have a look for the class .bottle you can see, that the last changes in line 18 padding: 0 60px 0 0; and line 21 padding-bottom: 15px; aren't implemented. All is working only because I have changed the variables tablet and phone max width into pixel values. If you try to change it back into variables for testing you will get the error message. However, in both cases less copiling is not working any more.

Sorry for the mess, I am currently in the process going live with the site. I have updated the hidden fields with the new access data.

Everything works fine after going live - only thing is that I can't reach the template Design anymore.

It would not be important for the moment because site is ready and online but one error occured - one module isn't displayed on the correct position anymore.

I am really helpless - worked so often wit your templates. Hope you will help me.

Site is blank in frontend now since module positions aren't visible in backend template settings anymore. Had disabled admin tools to have a look if something blocks from there but it had no effect.
Joomla is active in frontend as I can see but no modules are displayed.

I can't comprehend the problem?! Used the acess data as I wrote it in for you and everything works correctly. I will deactivate admin tools for now so that you can reach the backend normally, will change the password and give in the new data for you.

You can deactivate admin tools if the specific extension is creating hindrance for accessing admin panel for troubleshooting purposes

Yes I did, it should be no problem any more to enter the backend. I tried before to ensure, that the admin tools are not the reason for the problem but it had no effect and the protostar template is working, so it's not the matter of admin tools. viktoria2 Not sure about what changes or customizations had been done which resulted in "blank screen" however upon changing error reporting to "maximum", Error as seen in screenshot reflects.

As for initial troubleshooting measures :

1) Would suggest to download and re-install zengrid framework
2) Try to update to stable Php version 7x

Do ensure to take backup of your site before performing aforesaid steps, in case rollback required whilst facing any issues e.t.c
