Colors back to default

How do i change the colors of the template that are fixed and not in cache of browser or website?

In this i have changed the black to white and white to black. Now its back to black background and white letters...

I use the element inspector from Chrome or Firefox and i see the source all in assets directory css files. (with numbers and letters)
I take a template such as JA-Donate. I look at the css files from the assets directory and change to the right color with a browser refresh.
One week later (after a joomla upgrade i think) the colors are back to default.

How and where do i need to change then the right way? Clearly not the assets?

Hi Dragos01

T3-assets is the folder where optimized/cached files are stored and so they are deleted after such cache expires, to look at which files you should apply changes you should disable optimization settings from your backend and also disable development mode from template manager -> Global configuration.

When i am finished i turn on the optimize css and the colors are still there?

You can use a custom.css file, in this folder /templates/ja_donate/css/ to add your custom styles , you can create it if you do not have it already.
