    How can I add an additional search item for the JS Dating module?
    I would like to extend the search with an additional field: group (a drop-down list from which you can select a group to which the user joined).
    Can you do this for me?
    I really miss this functionality for searching people who are close to each other and belong / join the same group.

In this way, the module would eventually be fully functional.

  1. Second question
    How to change the display of position fields: age to show the age in years (eg: 10 to 30) and not the date (2009-3-19 to 1989-3-19)

    The module does not support the group options as there is no code written for this to fine user based on group on dating.
    Its something need to built a new module that has a new layout written for this. Its not easy i can suggest you changes as it need a dedicated developer to built a module.
    If you are a developer you can find module file in /module/js_dating and customize it, or hire a developer for this task.
    Sorry for not being much help in this case as its something beyond support scope.

      I understand. I thought you could add an additional feature to the module as a new feature for JomSocial.

      I suspect that the change is not big and you could do a JS Dating change as part of the further development of JomSocial.

      Will you add to your tasks for the development of JomSocial so that the new change for JS Dating appeared in the next releases as a new feature?

        i will share the feedback with development team, its not easy to say any task is simple as it needs efforts and time to make it working.
        I can not commit that the request will be add for sure as it depends on other features request and type of the request.

          I'm a T-SQL programmer (MSSQL) myself, so I know that sometimes some changes require a lot of code change.

          Unfortunately, I do not know the PHP language and above all I do not know the structures and processes of the given functionalities.

          However, I suspect that for an experienced programmer who wrote this module and knows its process, it should not be a major problem in adding additional search functionality to the group to which a given user joined. The only question is how big are the changes to adjust the module.

          I hope that this new change will be accepted and released by the team, for example: in the next edition of JomSocial or someone will only undertake a modification of JS Dating and will release a new edition regardless of the release of the next version of JomSocial.

          I really care about this functionality. I suspect that many users would be happy with such additional functionality as integration with JomSocial.

          sorry for late update, its not possible to filter by "Groups", because JS dating module only extended from jomsocial advanced search.

          Jomsocial dating module able to search by gender, age, and location only.

          Here I attached the improvement code for "Age" issue.

          unzip and put it at:
          /modules/mod_community_dating/mod_community_dating.php

          and to changing the age to using number of age, instead using 'date'. please goto jomsocial backend:
          profiles > customize profile, edit birthdate field, and set Display As to Age.

            jomsocial themes is not site templates, so it cant using T4. jomsocial themes using own jomsocial css, you can find it at /components/com_community/templates/

              Hi,

              Have you placed my request to add a filter by "groups"?

              I really care about this functionality. if this is not possible within the JS-Dating module, maybe you can create a new one that will have such an extension?

              This is a really brilliant functionality to be able to search for a friend or another person by gender, age and group to which it belongs.

              I am asking for a solution.
