favicon disappears after the update

The solution suggested by @teitbite to isolate customizations in T3 framework is quite convenient and robust.

If unable to perform the steps as outlined, Can you add your admin and ftp details in edit fields in order for us to perform the outlined steps

Kindly check now for favicon. Ref: Screenshot. Ensure to clear your browser cache if changes dont reflect.

The favicon.ico located in /templates/ja_megastore/ folder has been renamed henceforth disabling it as it had been loading prior to the one located in local folder

What I had done was so correct? you did not do anything more?
I emptied the caches but it may take a little time!
As I gave you access, can you answer me on the 2nd point (array problem) that I lose at each update, unless the developers integrate it in the next version (mentioned in the thread)

hdcms Hi. Yes, what You've done was correct. Using /local folder is a best way of implementing changes to template since such files will not be overwritten during template updates.

Can You please tell me what is the problem with this Array question? I can see the thread has been resolved.

I can apply the same patch but it's painful to do it again each time. That's why I asked
a / how to apply the same method locally (so that it is not overwritten after an update)
b / if it will be integrated in the next version of JA megastore (I must not be the only one!)

Kindly confirm if you are facing the relative issue of favicon still getting overridden even while the steps as outlined for local folder isolation have been performed

if it will be integrated in the next version of JA megastore (I must not be the only one!)

T3 framework isolation feature has been described concisely in the documentation excerpt which is global for all templates powered by T3 framework so we can have the concise steps for updating favicon via local folder also added in the trailing documentation excerpt.

However, It is merely quite user specific to have this feature solely for favicon added in JA Megastore via local folder isolation so wont be possible to have it specifically in the template

Please refer again to my reply through which I had precisely tried addressing your specific queries.

a) The method as outlined by @teitbite is present in the trailing forum post based upon which favicon from local folder is reflecting.

Kindly refer to the blog post - Isolate Template Settings and Customization once again from which certain excerpt is being quoted again for reference -

The new feature will help you keep your template settings and configuration intact even when you upgrade for a new version. In short, this feature will make your template settings and customization stay the same when upgrading your site.

so the specific settings or customizations wont get overridden whilst doing upgrades.

Nevertheless, It is always suggested to always take backup of your site before performing updates, in case rollback required whilst facing any issues e.t.c

2) This isolation feature for favicon isnt added by default however, we would plan to instead add the instructions in T3 framework documentation which would come handy for all templates powered by T3 framework and would be globally adaptable enabling users to successfully accomplish the specific task on JA templates powered by T3 framework
