To append at the resolution of this discussion, in Joomla each content to be visible on template should be related to a menu item, if you are using modules showing articles then you will need to create menu items type as category blog where you choose as category to be showed the category where are stored your articles.

There are no menu items linked to your new categories, please follow documentation on how to setup website at THIS URL

mmh82 As per initial thought, The Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs arent configured properly due to which site links arent appearing right as envisaged.

For review purposes :

1) You may try assigning default Joomla template - protostar and similar results will appear
2) Turn of SEF urls in System > Global configuration > Seo settings and the links will start working right

Solution :
Kindly follow the documentation in order to ensure SEF urls are configured properly - You may also follow this tutorial which defines almost similar instructions

Also, To append, Please follow documentation for JA Focus as suggested by Pavit in order to configure respective menu items

i read the document, i can't find or figure out how that can be done!
also i have created menu item for specific module , but now it open error page 404.
am sorry!

Hi mmh82

You have unpublished menu items too, them should be set as published if you want them to be showed.

Same for some categories.

Simply make a test creating a new menu item , set it as category blog, choose a published category in menu settings and then choose that category in your home page modules settings, you will see it works fine.

mmh82 In order to troubleshoot further :

1) You may check if first two steps as outlined under "Step by Step": instructions have been performed in the documentation excerpt
2) Also, Check if mod_rewrite is enabled on your server

i did this:
in: System > Global configuration > Site > Use URL Rewriting
i set the " Use URL Rewriting " = No
then the URL works.
but i still don't understand the theoretically, what does this mean? turn it off is secure or not secure for the site?

i activated another modules on homepage, filled with sample data, when i click on article title for any one of those modules, that published on my home page, none articles are opened!!!

even though:
menu items have created. and assigned.
URL SEF and other tried!
categories created/and articles assigned, properly as i think.
please, your input to make these articles opened!!

mmh82 Hi. I can see page reloads and there is a correct url shown. This means that the problme is in menu structure. You are lacking of landing pages for those articles. Please simply add a category layout for each of the category You are using as a source for those modules.
