JA Builder and Purity III Template enhancements

I have now installed 2 templates: JA_Builder and Purity III and the Component JA Builder.
All I want is to enhance my Purity III template with the extra features of JA Builder.
As I want to modify Purity III, I assume this is set as the "Default" template and I use the JA Builder Component to carry out the modifications in Purity III.But how do you do so?
When I set the JA Builder template as default, I can't access the submenu items and the dropdown menu is missing.
Please help.

First of all you should add these custom style to your custom.css file .

When you create a new page, you should select as template for the menu item the purity_III template
