Using Simple Image Gallery with K2 - Images not showing

I am reposting this to a new thread as per your request.

I have made the site live so you can view ti.

"I upgraded the GK NewsPro GK5 Module but I decided to just set the font size to zero to remove the "eventhours".

I am having a problem with Simple Image Gallery Pro and K2. I have used the "News" menu item from the template quickstart to create a gallery page. I have set up the gallery using first the image gallery tab and uploading a zip file with photos (jpg, lower case and underscores only in the picture names). I set the root image folder to both images and media/k2/galleries but the images did not show even though I had display image gallery enabled in the Display settings.

I then tried to use the SIG plugin at the bottom of the content tab to insert the gallery in the editor. I set the root image folder to images and uploaded the images through cPanel. This also did not work. only the titles show on the page but no pictures. I am pretty sure my image path is correct.

I tried to find a solution in the new forum and generally on the web but none of the solutions I have found so far (jQuery conflicts etc.) work in this case.

Is there something I am missing?

Hi,

Simple Image Gallery is 3rd party extension, you can try to check this module with a default Joomla template like Protostar first and see how it goes.

By way of an update, I have found a workaround for my problem.

Instead of using K2 I tried using a custom module to publish the gallery. This did not work but some progress was made. Instead of publishing the pictures it displayed the plugin tag (code), even though I did not use the editor (JCE).

The solution was to publish the gallery in an article which worked immediately using the exact same code which I copied and pasted.

I have no idea why K2 and the module did not work. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Try add this to override.css file and adjust width value accordingly :

.category .itemBlock{width:90% !important;}

Kindly ensure to clear your browser cache if changes dont reflect.

For the relative issue as posted earlier with 3rd party extension, You may try with Default Joomla template - Protostar to see if the the issue persists.

Although, As per your reply, You have found workaround for the relative issue in parent topic

That issue is resolved but I would like to ask one question without having to start a new post.

I had to create an article "Past Conferences Gallery " and then embed the articles for the individual years within that article. When I do this the Twitter & Pinterest button show for each embedded article.

I have turned these all off in the Template Features and cleared the cache but it makes no difference. How can I get rid of these share buttons on the page
