mobile menu background

On a mobile device, the module for the menu icon is all gray and it covers the logo.

Where (what file / what directory) can I change this to "transparent"

I tried this in the custom.css

.navbar-default.t3-mainnav {
    background-color: #transparent!important;
}

It did not work.

The problem is obvious on a smart phone (e.g. chrome on a Galaxy device).

So - I poked around with "inspect element" and looking at so many css files...

How / where do I look in the future?

You need to right click on the same part that you want to modify so inspect element tool will open the same section to show the style.
