Was visiting a site, and read about GDPR removal of inatcive accounts?!

Hello folks,

As my sites, at the moment, doesn't have any members this was news to me:

"The EU GDPR requires us to automatically and irreversibly delete inactive user accounts. If you have not logged in to our site in the past 18 (eighteen) calendar months we will be legally obliged to delete your account on Friday, May 18th, 2018. The deletion is automatic and IRREVERSIBLE: we are legally forbidden from being able to restore your user information."

Is this something that's going to be included as an automatic task in JA GDPR?

I did not know about this clause in GDPR so I will research it
I did know there was a requirement to delete unneeded data but I was not aware of the time frame being specified

It does make sense from a privacy perspective I will discuss this with the team so we can comment in regard to our extension

Been serching for this quote, and keeps getting back to Akeeba.

As a rookie at GDPR, it's almost impossible to understand all legal texts.

I emailed Nik to seek advice on his post and he in turn had sought advice on his 18 month time period
We are talking about this internally at the moment to see what we do
