Smart Search Look and Feel

I would like to adjust the look and feel of the search results. I am using the Joomla smart search feature but you would notice that dropdown menus for the 'Search by Author' and 'Search by K2 Category' are basically stuck together. Can we get at least 2 tabs of space?

    margin-right: 20px;
    width: 150px;
}
