Hyperlink to filtered view of events

Hi all,

We have a menu-item of type 'Category List of Events' that is set to show all events present.
On top of the page we have the 'filter'. There I can filter all events to, for example, only the events in a single category.

It looks like the filtering is done through AJAX or similar. When applying a filter, the physical address of the page keeps the same.

Question: is there a way that we can apply a filter via a hyperlink? I was thinking of a URL in a newsletter and when clicked, only a filtered view of the events would show.

Of course we can cover the category filter by creating extra menu-items of the same type that show only events in a single category. But our client wants visitors to see events of 1 location. So the hyperlink should point to that.

Not sure if you already had this file overidden in template of your site:

[site_root]/templates/[your_template]/html/com_dtregister/event/list.php

If yes, try to backup first and replace with attached file
