NewsPro GK5 - errant characters displaying

Hi, I am filling up a site that is using the Evonews template/QuickStart and one of the News Pro GK 5's is throwing some weird characters at the end of the list of articles it's displaying on our home page.

Yes... those are what I mean. I have tried reducing the number of links to display... I've also tried increasing...

That said, even when I select only 1 link to display there.. that article/item displays, but I still get a number of the 1's and 0's below it. So it isn't the setting itself.

this looks like you have a widget without any content or the content connection is broken.

FTP details are updated.

While you are there... the same problem is now happening with the "SAMMAMISH NEWS" GK News Pro 5 module on the homepage as well.

Additionally, You'll note a new K2 Item in list of the K2 Items. The NewsPro5 module on the home page in the top left is set to show all K2 items based upon date created. This being the newest item created - it should be showing up... but it isn't 🙁

It may look like that... but I have added categories with ore than enough content, and everytime I do it just adds more of the "1's" and "0's" below the links.

Truthfully, I was really looking for more than an observation about the number of articles. If that is what is going on... then why are these characters appearing at all? Shouldn't the module just be blank rather than add characters that muck up the display?

Why is the module adding extra characters? What in the code of News Pro GK 5 is causing this? Can you correct it by FTP-ing in and changing some code?

In short - what can you do to help eliminate what is clearly a bug in the software?

Something wrong with the 'Links' option in the 'Evo News 1' mode of this module on your site, let me investigate further and will get back to you.

Hi, I had to turn off that "Bellevue" module in my install because this is taking so long. When you go into work on the problem... please feel free to turn in back on and fix it... when you're happy that you have... please turn it off again. Thanks, Pat

Pjs Hi. I've fixed this problem by editing contorller.php file in evonews1 template by adding this condition to it:

	if( strlen( strip_tags($html) ) > 1 ) {
          $link_array[] = $html;
	}

Thanks teitbite! That module is working perfectly now. The problem is still occuring in the other New Pro 5's that I want to turn on on the site. If I add your code to the controller.php files in those other modules... I'm assuming that that will fix them too. Do I need to put the code in any particular place in the file?

Also - the small snippet of code above is different than the code I see in the suppor temail that I got today. Can you tell me if the code above:
