I am completely lost. Joomla 3.9.11 is installed on my server. I have uploaded to the server and installed the build.r template from Joomlabamboo. I have set up my own Categories, Articles and Menus. Still, I cannot seem to successfully assign that content to ANY of the locations in the template where (I think) they need to go. I load the page and I get nothin'. I have spent 2 days unloading and reloading Joomla and the template and I am now fully frustrated. Something very basic has escaped my attention in the readings "for beginners" that I have used to get started. It can't be this hard. Can someone tell me how to take some small, baby steps to troubleshoot where I am going so dreadfully wrong?

Hellllllp-p-p-p !
I have resorted to playing with the Beez3 template, now. Here is the info you need
Pavik,
I seem to have overcome a major mental block and I am well on my way. I think that I have the general idea of "what goes where" and how to put "something somewhere." I am into the refinement stage of some aspects and still in the exploration stage of others. I feel less frustrated and more stimulated. So, that is the best state of mind in which to be for the learning process to take off.
Thanks,
jerry
Hi Pavik, I feel pretty good about what I did. It is "sober" but my friend wanted me to "keep it simple." I ran into a bug (I think). On the "offcanvas" menu I have some menu items (categories) and that have submenus (subcategories), 1 or 2. If one of the subcategories is "active" and you return to the offcanvas menu, the active subcategory and its parent are not visible. There seems to be no option to set up a color for an "active link," as there is for the "NAVBAR" menu items. Take a look and see if you think there is a fix for that.
thanks!

OK. The maincontent area and the abovecontent (in which the breadcrumbs are located) areas are appearing too low on the page relative to the main menu. This happens on any non-home page. On the Home page, all is looking fine. The articles appear just under the menu.
Does that explain it any better?
thanks!
thanks! I will work on that later today.

That worked fine, thanks.
Now, I am curious about another issue. On the same site, the offcanvas menu works a little strangely. I have some menu items (categories) and that have submenus (subcategories). If one of the subcategories is "active" and you return directly to the offcanvas menu, the active subcategory and its parent category are not visible. There seems to be no option to set up a specific color for an "active link," as there is for the "NAVBAR" menu. So, that tells me that there is something different in the coding for "active links" between these two menu formats (I think). Is there a way to make this offcanvas menu behave more like the NAVBAR menu in this respect?
Thanks!
jp
