Bug with JoomlArt Advanced Custom Module showing gallery without sub categories

Hi,

I discovered a bug with JoomlArt Advanced Custom Module showing gallery without sub categories.
I copied the current gallery structure, menus and modules to a new menu/category called "In memoriam" that was a stand alone category, without subcategories and then the display bug appeared.

The problem is only resolved when I add a blank subcatergory, however this is just a workaround, since when the user clicks on the empty subcategory gets a blank page.
Please advise.
This is a live website, so I have applied the workaround, however if you try it yourself with a new installation, you will see what I mean.

I checked your recording video but not quite sure of issue here, could you share the credentials of your site and screenshot of how you want it should be?

Hi saguaros , this is a delivered website, so I don't want to mess with it. I believe my instructions are straight forward. If you make a fresh quick start installation you will see what I mean. Please check my picture:
