Do you have backup of your site? try to copy the 'settings' folder of template in the old site: /templates/buildr/settings/
and paste to the new updated site.
And let me know how it goes.

It seems that you already updated template in current site, could you share the backup of the old site (not update template) so I will try to update at my local and see how it goes. If there is issue, I will check with the dev team to fix it.

Saguaros, I have just discovered that another of my sites that uses the Buildr-backgrounder template is showing the same problem (J! 3.9.14 and Buildr 1.4.1). I did not check if the the problem was there before the Joomla update (I updated this site today). Please have your dev team look into this as it is the same problem on two sites with the same Buildr template theme. Thanks.
I don't know if this helps: I have installed a backup of one of the trouble sites on my local computer. It has the same problem as above. This time it's running J! 3.9.6 and Buildr 1.4.1
All OK now. Needed to install the latest zengrid framework. Lesson learned.
