The background image on my home page and all other pages where there is a masthead is not visible. It is hidden by a white background and I don't know what I did to break that. Can you let me know what to change please? Thanks

I mislead you. I meant that the background image is not visible in the t4-header on any pages. It is white which renders the navigation invisible.
In the quickstart installation the background image is behind the navigation to the top of the screen

Remove the code to get the same style like in demo.
