Hi, I've found in the documentation the part about layout editing. Unfortunately I can't see Layout Config section in my Filter Config panel (please see the attached document).

Actually, it's Page Options as on your site now, the language for these text configuration has been changed in recent version.
Sorry for this confusion, I will pass to the documentation team to update this guide.

Thank you for the reply, but I have another issue:
Even though I have selected such fields as category or description, the product window is very poor - contains only thumb and name. I have no idea how to change that :/

You can decide which fields you want to show on front-end by drap&drop the fields on the left window "Unused Content Elements" and move it to the right window "Front-end Display Elements"
Once done, save the filter again.
