According to the Aiga template: There is no possibility to chose an article layout for a single article (only for a whole category and then you got trouble if you link to a single article ...).
So, what do you think about adding the "Choose a Layout" feature to articles, too. I mean: the field "article_layout" with the options "article-cover-simple", "article-cover", "model-centered" and so on ...
That would be very nice, because it 's a little bit boring to change the attribs in mysql ;-)
