When we try to add ourselves to the waiting list for a paid event at https://www.coasit.com.au/events/register-for-an-event?task=register.register&eventId=251 we are being asked for credit card details.
Is this normal, or has the event been misconfigured?
Also, for the same DTRegister event (Writing Women's Stories (Mar 14, 2020) ), if I try to add someone in the back end it doesn't let me add them to the waiting list, it just tells me that the event is full.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Peter,

DT Register offers a payment method call 'Paylater', you can enable this pay option, then for users in waiting list, they can select this option when check out.

Thanks, I'll try that out. I'm sure that I remember that previously the payment step wasn't included if they were going to the waiting list.
This will be an issue for event that fills quickly, where we will have to manually disable the credit card option when the event is full, and add a "pay at the door, if I am offered a place" option, because at present, if it happened on a weekend we could have a large number of people who are being added to a waiting list AND paying with their credit card as part of the process.
I have updated to 4.2.7, and I still can't add people to the waiting list in the back end.

        saguaros it would be really helpful if we could show the default payment options only to normal registrants and the PayLater option only to people who want to be on the waiting list. Because we don't want to give the PayLater option to regular customers.

            webcasebv Or perhaps even the possibility of the other payment options being removed when it changes over to a waiting list, so that paylater is the only option that is then available?

                      I too need the waiting list to have no payment. It did this in prior releases.

                        Hi I know you are working hard on Joomla4 updates. when you get it cough up, please correct the old style waitlist where when someone wants to be on a list we can capture all their option request but not force them to pass a payment window.
                        as it was before they signed up to a sold out event and became a group of registrants called "waiting" (in the active, pending, canceled classes) I have an old copy of how it was if you need
