i'm not receiving the emails when using th gk reservation

You can make a quick testing by switching default Joomla template (GK Wedding) to Protostar - a standard template of Joomla and try with the reservation again to see how it goes.
If the email functions well, then there will be issue with our template.

In Global configuration > Server > Mail Settings > I just tried to send a test email (I put my own email to the 'From Email' field) but there is no email coming to my mailbox, something wrong with the mail function on your site.
Could you check with your hosting for this first?

they said the port they are using is 465 how do do I configure the gk reservation to use the same port
