Articles by Titles and Shortening Space

I have a page with articles that I want sorted in alphabetical order by title:

On the menu page, I have it set to sort by "Article Order: Title Alphabetical" and they are all in the same category, but they don't seem to come up that way. Meaning, not in alphabetical order. I know there is also date ordering and category order; so which one takes precedence.

Also, I had one other question on this same page: I only want to show the title of the article; I made "hide" for intro text, but it kept showing. So I put a "read more" bar before the content to hide it; but there is a lot of white space after the Title (see image with red oval). Is there a simpler way to have just the Title show and nothing else beside the photo?

The order is working on your site, this section loads item from top to bottom you can see first row from top to bottom articles in correct order.
for the space issue use this code in custom css

.items-row .item article {
 max-height: 273px;}

Thank you; actually I see I need to change the layout on the "multicolumn order" from down to across.
