Shop and Buy - Slideshow header 'cache' question

I have a quick question. I am using the Shop and Buy template. I am now looking to make the image size of the header on the slideshow smaller. However, when I am replacing the image size to a smaller one and I check this in Google pagespeeds, it looks as though cache is taking precedence (https://www.cardfusion.co.uk/modules/mod_image_show_gk4/cache/Kankotri-19---Headergk-is-665.jp).

Is there any way I can get this to change and not have the cache involved? I have replaced the initial image with another images (smaller size), but it seems like it keeps reverting to the cache (especially with the Google Pagespeeds).

Hi pritmadlani

You can try to delete/empty the module/cache folder and also to change the
Platform Specific Caching from Conservative to Off from your global configuration -> System tab, then edit your module and save again to see what he replace .

Thank you for your message. I have made the changes but this does not seem to effect it. I have also deleted my slides, delete the image, then re-upload the image with a new name. My file size is around 90kb, however when I uploaded the file with the new name and ran Goolge pagespeeds again, it said that the file size is over 200kb and links back to the new file in the cache folder (https://www.cardfusion.co.uk/modules/mod_image_show_gk4/cache/Red-Laser-Cut-Indian-Wedding-Card---CFK19gk-is-665.jp). The file size in the cache folder is showing as over 237kb and I have no idea why.

Any ideas?

Do you have the default Joomla htaccess?
I can't check as the ftp details are for an empty folder

It is not just the picture - I have added an s to card which isn't working either
I also did optimise the picture and add a folder called slideshow test
The module currently loading is the one I created as a duplicate

Does the server have any optimisation or caching options

Thank you for your message.

In Global configuration, 'Cache settings', 'Platform Specific Caching' - I have set this to 'No'. I have set the 'System Cache' to 'Off - caching disabled'.

Can you try testing using the default joomla htaccess file rather than the current file

Hello,

So I renamed my main htaccess file to 'Main.htaccess' and the original one is 'htaccess.txt' (I am not sure if I need to do anything else).

After making this change, it does not seem to make any difference. I also created the module again, but it seems that it is putting the images in the cache folder and pulling from there, as opposed to the 'Images' folder.

As well as this, after changing the name of the '.htaccess' to 'Main.htaccess' and when I click on a menu, I get the following:

Not Found
The requested URL /hindu-wedding-cards was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have changed the 'Main.htaccess' back to '.htaccess' as I do not want to keep my site offline, but any assistance would be much appreciated.

Did you try renaming the original one to .htaccess and renaming new one to htaccessMain.txt
and disabling sef option if errors on load appear?

Hi Prit,

I've disabled "Generate thumbnails" option from you Image Show module (Advanced tab), so now the original image is taken and the issue should be solved.
