custom order k2 items in Zentools2

I am looking for a way in Zentools2 to display K2 items in a custom order. Is there an easy hack for this?

When you say custom order how do you want to sort the content?

Also can you login with your members account as zentools2 is a members only account

Hi Paul,

I want to be able to specify the items by id, like 17,212,344 ... and this should also be the order of appearance...

I will certainly renew my subscription when there is a newer version of Zentools2 available . However I did not realize the forum was members-only as well.... Ok, I understand..

Erik, there are sorting options available that can do it in similar way

With membership templates / extensions unfortunately people do use illegally download extensions via third party sites so we do ask people to log in with membership accounts as otherwise our support systems are open to abuse

I am puzzled by this site... I do have an expired membership for Joomlabamboo/Zentools2 (I renewed a few times in the past), but I cannot find any trace of that in the downloads section. The only thing I see is an expired Joomlart subscription.

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Should I use the 'old' forum instead?

I have a 'list' layout with K2-items on my frontpage. I am trying to find a way to custom-order these items.

Also, I just noticed that Zentools2 is a free product now, is that right? At least, that is what is says here: https://member.joomlart.com/downloads/joomlabamboo/joomla-extensions/jb-zentools2-package

Should I first download and install the latest version 2.4.2 from that url?

No I'm afraid zentools2 is not a free extension

Without an active membership you shouldn't be able to download it

That's what I mean: sorry to say, but this site is confusing. I can't even see when my membership expired (if it did). Most of my JB history - downloads / invoices - has been erased apparently..

We had to migrate account information from the old JB site to the combined support and download platform now used by JB, Gavick, ijoomla etc

I do still have access to the old joomlaBamboo admin side so I can see your account history

I can see if it is possible to move payment history to current site but not a 100% sure this is now possible

I am asking because apparently there is something wrong with access-control on this site. That probably explains the confusion at the beginning of this thread as well (were you asked me to login with my member-account).

FYI: I can still download the latest version of Zentools2 at the aforementioned url as well (I promise I won't install / use it). Just to indicate that there must be something wrong...

With the content source - it would be possible I think to filter using a couple of different methods but all would involve a certain way of organising the k2 items themselves to match the sort order selected

Are you familiar with what I mean?

Hi Erik,

The forum does not require an active membership but the downloads should for member extensions
So thanks for your honesty - this shouldn't be available as a download.
I will ask the system administrator to look at this issue

I think we cross posted - I did suggest a work around for selecting individual k2 items - I can be more specific if needed

Hi Paul,

I'm using K2 ordering right now, but as I want to display a few items from different categories on the frontpage in a specific order (that may change overtime), I need a way to select not just specific items but also a specific item-order.

So I need a way to specify a list of item-ID's that would be displayed in that order...

May I suggest an improvement? The way it is now, picking specific items is not easy because I have a lot of them. I often forget to use the <CTRL> key to extend my selection with a new item, which forces me to start all over again..

I think it would be much better if the items could be dragged into a separate box, where they can be ordered as well (top ranks first).

At the moment we have zentools2 freely available for download so feel free to update the module version

I'm not sure if this will stay the case but you are able to download and install the latest version

Regarding your feature request - I'm not quite sure how we could fit that in the admin panel
As you are aware there isn't a way of adding items item id field inside the module

Only the use of the sorting or featuring options

Would using the feature option work? e.g. k2 items that display on the home page are featured and then you filter inside the module by displaying featured only?

As you change the home page content by un-featuring items it would also remove them from the module

Hi Paul, you're quite right: there isn't a way to do this yet in the admin panel, but that's exactly why it would be my feature request 😉

Featuring the items won't work either: it would change their styling in e.g. category-listings - which I don't want..
