Upgrade Issue; Can't find missing XML file

I am trying to upgrade from Joomla 3.4.0 to 3.6.5 and have tried direct upgrade overwrite, as well as upload the patch file.

When I try upgrading in Joomla, I get a message that the file is corrupt.

When I try downloading the zip file upgrading, I get an error that it "Can't find missing XML file"

Any ideas?

Try to clean your website cache and try again from components -> Joomla Update - if this fails then try to upload the update after downloaded again from this url

TAKE A BACKUP FIRST TO UPDATE

Cleared the cache (even went to a different computer)

Tried to install inside Joomla and got this message: ERROR: The archive file is corrupt, truncated or archive parts are missing

Then I downloaded your link, "This package is for performing updates from Joomla! 2.5 and previous 3.x releases to 3.6.5"

And got the same error message: Warning JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.; Error Unable to find install package

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

You can try to restore the backup for the live site and we recommend to upgrade Joomla in test / local site first.
