Is it possible set up an event where registrations are only accepted from a particular country or state, or from members of a particular user group?

for events limited to particular groups, perhaps the "private" option could be extended beyond only checking to see if the person has logged in or not, to which group or ACL they are in?

I got your point but at this moment, the system has option for logged or non-logged in user to register only, there is not settings for that ACL. I will pass to the team for further consideration on this.
