Rename Template

Is it possible to rename the template so that it is less obvious to onlookers what tech stack we are using?

Hi
You can rename the template from Joomla template manager. If you are looking to rename the template from core with a complete different name, in this case the template will no longer be a JA Product as you can not update it with installation package of JA Extension manager.
About the variables mostly they will work but in some case or in updates there might be issue in future.

Yes, I want to edit the template core, and I am ok with it no longer being updatable with Joomlart Extension Manager as I have already heavily modified it to the point that it wouldn't be updatable. If you can provide a quick guide or suggestion that would be appreciated, otherwise I am sure I can figure it out with some trial and error.

Open the template > Copy template : http://prntscr.com/sf2yo7

Again : we do not suggest to rename template as its no longer be considered a JA template and there is very limited support.
