Indexing in k2 filter?

I am using k2 search filter. I am adding new k2 content but its not displaying immediately in search result?
How indexing work. please explain.

I clicked the indexing button in component but within second it displayed done. i am doubful how so fast indexing is done. Also i see some cron setting of indexing in plugin setting. Please explain overall how indexing work and how can run indexing or cron?

Could you please confirm you're using JA Megafilter or JA K2 Search & Filter component? because here are 2 different components.

Thanks. I have gone through this document earlier but still have some queries. please help me to understand better.

Parameter Explanation

Update indexing event -----> If selected NO then it will not index and show search result? please explain.

Cron job private key: this key is used in case you want to update indexing immediately. You should update this key with your own private word.
---> What do you mean by private word and how it works.. do i have to schedule some cron job for this script?

Update indexing cron: update indexing data recurring depends on interval that is defined in the interval field.
---> If selected NO, it will stop automatic indexing?

Indexing data interval: set the time (in minutes) before the component updates indexing data.
---> Does indexing happens automatically after this interval?

Also please explain how so fast indexing happens on just click of button. IF you see joomla smart search, it takes so much time to index. So my customer isnt believing indexing is happening. Please explain the logic.

Hi,
Let me explain to you
1. Update indexing event: this option will help you trigger indexing each time you save k2 item. This is helpful when you want to renew index after editing k2 content, or custom field value.
2. Cron job private key: yes, you can use this option when want to index immediately without waiting. Use this url: index.php?option=com_jak2filter&view=cron&jakey=indexing. Change value of jakey to your private key
3. Update indexing cron: if you set no, auto indexing will stop
4. Indexing data interval: each time user visit k2 view or k2 filter view, system will check the interval time, if more than value was set (in minute), ajax cron will be triggered => auto index

Does it take all the items in k2 for indexing search. Is it possible to exclude few k2 categories from indexing or not displaying in search result?

1. The k2 filter index and joomla smart search are not the same. Check tables #__jak2filter, #__jak2filter_taxonomy, #__ak2filter_taxonomy_map to see what were indexed.
2. Indexing affects to all categories. There is no way to exclude any category or extra field.

Does JA k2 filter work with SPPAGE Builder. If not how can we search SPPB content using this filter? Is there any plugin?

I'm not quite sure which is 'static page content' here . I think that you can use Smart search in Joomla https://docs.joomla.org/Smart_Search_quickstart_guide which will index content in DB.
