Cannot add article OR category through Content -> Issues

I cannot add an article to an issue OR a category to an issue. This is through Content -> Issues. I'm also using the K2 component. Could someone help me figure out why I can't add these types?

To Add An Article style in the issue you must have an style with type issue

I added it and now you can see this http://prntscr.com/su8os6 in selection list.

Thanks pankaj. That helped clarify things. I'm still trying to get used to the hierarchy for which things need to be set up in it. A few follow-up questions:

Is there a video tutorial that explains this hierarchy for which to set things up?
Is there a way to have the drop-down lists follow the same hierarchical display as how Joomla or K2 does it? (See attached images)

The category will not be same as Publisher has own style its not in doc too as its customization tasks.
