layout cannot be loaded. There might be some errors in the layout file

Hi,
I have installed latest version of Joomla with JA Mood Template over my existing site. In the template style page, I am getting the following error

layout cannot be loaded. There might be some errors in the layout file.

The installation was clean and did not throw any error message. However, a fresh install of the quickinstall version and it is not having that problem. How to rectify this? screen shot is attached.

This error came in 2 case :
You have customized the layout files of the template and there errors in it or the server memory limits are low
Please increase the max execution time to minimum 120 and memory limits to 512M from Server PHP setting
you can ask your host as well to do it for you.

Now if it remain same after change in the value, there could be error in the template files.
If there is custom work in template, take backup of changes.
Download latest version of template and install it , it will update all template files.

Ninja Hi, I have increased the limits with my host. I have not made any changes to the template. And as suggested by you, I have re-installed both joomla and the JA Mood template afresh. But I am afraid, nothing seems to work. Pls guide.

Ninja thanks pankaj. I had to put the following line in the .htaccess file on my server to make it work.

DirectoryIndex index.php first.html index.htm index.html
