Can't edit frontpage

Hello,

I have installed jomsocial standard with purity III theme. However, I cannot change the frontpage at all. whenever i click on the template in configuration, nothing happens. the template doesn't load and all I see are name and description.

Kindly edit fields in first post and submit a temp super user login for staff. The JomSocial frontpage is a Menu item. You can let me know what you want to change with help of a screenshot.

I want to edit everything... i need to change the front page. i don't need you to change it, i need me to be able to change it.

My problem is: when i click on configuration->templates and then select the template, nothing happens... see attachment.
I'm supposed to have the template loading there to edit - as I've seen in the online webinar class

The templates of JomSocial not editable from options.
If you want to customize colors etc. Open Theme Designer tab it will include all major options.

Ok. So what i have to change;
Frontpage:
- put the picture directly under the header without any spaces inbetween
- remove all social elements other than the login and registration - we can't have outside people see profile information!
- put description elements instead of the social ones:
- about the company/services, a slider with some pictures and a team line

then I need to edit the homepage so:
- i have admin & featured posts in the activity wall
- users can post activity
- maybe put to activity walls - one for system posts with articles and one for user activity

If you need the core hacks in the layout files you have to custom code in the layout files or override them.

This is pure custom works as you want to change the complete layouts.
Rest all information to change like frontpage image is by JomSocial > Theme Designer tab.

HellO I am trying to follow the instruction, but it doesn't work.

i need to change the style.css and other component files and I don't have the com_community folder in my template. the com_community folder is in the root folder and I can't access it from the joomla editor

I tried to copy it and on ftp - i get access denied

i changed the style.css locally and tried to overwrite it - didn't work

I have to remove the social stream from the frontpage - if no user is logged in, it makes no sense to show any stream

how do i manage to do that?

i am running on lightsail joomla bitnami

Its very hard to assume without a site URL what setting you applied and not working.
Kindly put the site online and share the URL with a illustrated screenshot and changes details so i can check it.

No i managed to create an override folder
but my overrides on the css are not showing... i followed the instructions step by step

do you need acces to my joomla? i can create an admin account for you.

this is extremely frustrating. I am finding it very hard right now to keep my cool and not explode in rage.

I CAN NOT:
- change the frontpage -> if i create one by hand - i cannot do a register button - because there is NO Module and I can't change the redirection in any element - module element/menu/etc
- now the compnents don't even change color changes any more - i made all the necessary changes in the theme deisgner - all elements are the same

BOTTOM LINE: this system is built to duplicate your social concept - NOT give me the tools to develop my own.

I'm giving it 2 days before I ask for my money back

To check the problem of thememagic i need your site super user login, as this problem is not found in JomSocial and only on your site.
