Location of custom code

I need to insert some custom code (https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=786152) before the </head> tag but can't find how to do so in your new T4 templates other than overwriting the joomla source.

Not quite sure which snippet of code you want to add but there are 2 places to put script:

1 - Global Settings in template option: https://prnt.sc/ughmtn

2 - In this file: plugins/system/t4/themes/base/html/layouts/t4/index.php

It's all about optimising the site for social media sharing. It would be great if your templates had a feature where you can just fill in those variables.

Update: inserting this as custom code in the template did not work. It just displayed the code on top of the page.

This snippet of code in that topic is meant for article view of com_content, not custom code section in in template.

You should add into the override for article: /templates/your_template/html/com_content/article/default.php

If this file doesn't exist now, you can override by copying the base file in T4 plugin:

/plugins/system/t4/themes/base/html/com_content/article/

and paste into above path of template.
