Date format

Hi again,
How can I set date format for published date for example ? By default, it's something like Y-m-d but I have to set it to j F Y. Is it possible with a setting I missed ? Something in the custom layout ? A language override ? Modifying directly a file somewhere (awful, I know, but I really need this) ?

Nice ! That's exactly what I needed. But it would be nice to be able to set it with php date to solve updates issues ;-)
Another question, not related directly to this but to dates : is is possible to display "Unpublish date" and to sort items with this field ? Would be nice to create a calendar.
