Horizontal menu not working on blank install

How does one get the home-horizontal menu to work without installing the quickstart package?

Is there perhaps a way to get the template styles of the quickstart packge to the a blank install? For the life of me I can't get it to display horizontal. It is like there is a bug when I try to duplicate the horizontal menu on a site where I just want to upgrade to a new template..

Could you please look into this.. Pulling my hair out here.

Thanks for your reply. I have followed your documentation and that is just the thing.. It is not working as expected. It is as if the blocks or something is not included in clean template download? I have tried in so many ways, but just can't the menu to be horizontal.

Could you perhaps try it on a clean install with latest joomla?

The header is included in template. Can u edit Field in first post and submit site login for staff.

I installed the quickstart package on a new site and copied the file: /templates/ja_spa/etc/layout/home-horizontal.json over to the site I am working on. It seems to be functioning correcly now. Think there might be some difference in files?

Hi.there is no difference in template files. I can confirm only after testing on your site if issue still present.

Yes, can you please take a look at what is going on here. I have it displaying horizontally, but parent menu items is not accessible and megamenu options do work.

It is extremely frustrating working with something this glitchy.

Could you please tell me how to get the parent items of the menu to be clickable? And can megamenu be used on this template?

I updated the block in the first message to you with login details. Something funny is going on here, and I can't quite figure out what.

Our dev is checking on this, please upgrade the user permission to super user and turn off URL re write options as its giving 404 to all sub pages

I replaced both those files with the one you shared. There was only base.js in the zip file? I renamed a copy offcanvas.js and uploaded it also, in other words - both base.js and offcanvas.js now contains the code in your file. Not sure if this was what you meant?

However it made no difference and I can't really see any difference from the first base.js file?

There was also a T4 update, which I installed. Still no luck.

Please advise.

I have tested it. Thank you for the fix, I can confirm that the parent items are now working, besides for the first item on the menu(Home Page). This is still a problem.

Further, none of my changes to the mega menu settings, under template style settings, takes effect? I have tried various different options with no luck. It is like these settings gets ignored.
The problem is: I need to display two columns under the parent, one displaying submenu and second displaying a banner advert, please see: www.tulbaghtourism.co..za for example. They want to keep those ads under the submenu.

Since the horizontal menu is to short to fit the number of menu item in without going into another row, we decided to use this template with the expanding vertical menu with scroll capabilities... It will work great for this site, if we can get it to work that is. How can I get the megamenu options to take effect? What files are at work here?

Please advise, something is still not right here.

I do appreciate the parent item working but can we please also:
get the first menu item (homepage-featured articles) and submenu to work?
get megamenu option to work - in order to display two columns on submenu?

Sorry for being so demanding, but it will be really great if we can get this working as we have surpassed the deadline for project already.
