It's true that you're enabling these 2 framework : JA T3 framework (old version) and T3 framework (newer version)

In Templates Styles, you're settings JA University - JA T3 framework as default template.

This JA University has 2 versions for each framework, I also see that you installed JA University _ T3 framework version.

So if you want to test with morph template or T3 Blank template without issue, pls switch to use JA University - T3 framework (newer version) and disable the JA T3 framework (old version) plugin.

Again, it's NOT possible to enable both frameworks at the same time.

I hope this makes senses.

Thank you very much for your details answer. I've made some test and I discovered that I'm able to have ja_university_t3 template running togethere with tx_morph.

To do it I've managed extensions and plugins like this

My question now is the following one: how can I pass all the configuration of my old template "JA Univeristy - Default" to the new one "ja_university_t3"? Especially I need to activate the part about the assignement menu? Is there a way to make like an upgrade or something like this?

Hi Niccolò,

As I mentioned these are 2 different framework so it's not kind of upgrade, you will have to manually re-configure the layout and assign modules to associated positions again.

I've a double question/problem now:

1) If I make a copy of the website to a dev one, then I change to the new JA framework and I configure the layout and assigned modules, is there a way to export/import this configuration to the live website? The live webiste, due to the covid situation, is a working progess website and I need to work on the templates on a dev website and them import only this part.

2) I've try to install another theme, with a complete different framework but I still have errors related to JA T3, and this is quite strange. Have a look to this video (https://www.loom.com/share/18ecdd0e06044c059c6b727c8b3131b1 please delete it from here after reading it) from the minutes 02:27. As you can see if I try to install and configure a theme with Helix framework, when I enter in the template configuration I get this error "The plugin JAT3 framework must be installed and enabled." This happens if JA T3 Framework is active or not. It seems like I can't install other templates 🙁 This is quite strange and I need your help to solve it. Can you have a look to it please?

Hi,
I've a couple of news. I understand the conflict between old JA T3 Framework and T3, but now we've discovered that we have problem to install other template, also with different framework, because JA T3 old framework make impossibile to install other framework 🙁

Here the answer from another developer.

"Unfortunately JAT3 is causing a lot of conflicts with recent frameworks, that is why there is nothing we can do on your site. The ones who should fix it are the team behind it, specially if they still sell or support products with it. The issue now is that it is not only conflicting with T3, but with Helix and possibly Gantry as well"

My question is why other framework, like Helix for example, are not working together with JA T3 old framework?
Can we try, at least, to solve this problem?

UPDATE: we have made some test with other framework, and we were able to install only a template with Gantry framework. Can you help us to understan why the Helix one (that is not T3) conflicts with yours?

Thanks for supporting us and trying to solve the problem.

To see the error please open the template "shaper_helixultimate - Default" (that is a template with Helix Ultimate - Helix Framework), and you click on "Template options". You will see then the error "The plugin JAT3 framework must be installed and enabled."

And this is quite strange, because it is not a JA T3 or T3 framework... and anyway JAT3 framework is installed and enabled.

There is a test page associated to this theme (https://www.scuolaleonardo.com/it/corsi-online-new.html).
As you can see the web works, but I can't manage to configure the theme.

If we make it working it will be great and it will help us to upgrade our actual theme and keep using a ja theme + other theme for landing pages or other purpose.

Hi Niccolò,

As I can see that you assign shaper_helix template to only 1 page but when you go to edit template style, somehow it loads the preview of homepage - which is assigned to T3 framework, not the page that you assigned.

And that's why the error message appeared.

Thank Saguaros for the feedback.

The problem is that this function (loading the preview of homepage) block me to open the preferences for the template. How can we avoid it? Withous JA T3 old Framework, it works fine. If I enable JA T3 old Framework I've this error. So I assume that the problem is somehow connected to JA T3 old Framework.

Can you investigate more on this?

But that function (loading preview of homepage) belongs to Helix template, not our template, you should contact its provider for help to prevent this, or somehow load the page it's being assigned to.

I'm trying to get some feedback from the Helix developers 😉
In the meantime I've a question for you: how can I upgrade from Ja University with JA T3 v2 Framework to T3 Framework? There is a way to do this or it is impossible?

Hi Niccolò,

As I mentioned, T3 is totally different from JA T3 v2 framework, it's not kind of an 'upgrade' so you can update directly from old version to new version, you will need to install JA University T3 and manually configure layouts / modules / etc..
