'undefined' and other template issues

When I try to edit the template layout, I make the changes then when I click 'Save' it comes up with 'undefined' and will not save.

Also, when I come out of template settings it takes me back to the front end home page rather than the backend template list.

Please can you help me resolve this.

I did some investigation and mod security was turned on - I turned if off and it fixed the error.
