Disabling Post Sidebar also Disables Meta Data

Issue - GKNews1_13 posts do not show meta data (date, author, comments) when sidebar is disabled. Hows does one show meta data when sidebar disabled in a post?

These are the post settings: note date author meta data are enabled while show sidebar information is disabled.

Also note that the right sidebar does not display any widgets. How to display recent post info in sidebar. At one point it was working. Not sure what happened?

I fixed the sidebar issue not displaying widgets.

In my case I deactivated the YARPP plugin in favor of using the Contextual Related Posts plugin. This is when I noticed the missing widgets in sidebar. When I reactivated YARPP the widgets again displayed in the post sidebar.
